Campbell, Kenton, Boone County Partnership

altafiber announces partnerships in Northern Kentucky to invest $181M to expand fiber-to-the-premise gigabit Internet to all Northern Kentucky residents and businesses in 24-36 months. This fiber expansion in Campbell County, Kenton County, and Boone County, and will be able to provide all 207,000 consumer and business addresses in those counties with fiber-to-the-premise gigabit Internet. The investment continues altafiber’s ongoing commitment to increase digital equity and ensure that all residents have access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities.

NKY Digital Equity Initiative

altafiber partnered with the United Way of Greater Cincinnati to connect over 900 families in Northern Kentucky, across 10 school districts with free internet to support virtual schooling. We’re continuing to work with Northern Kentucky school districts to connect families that need an internet connection for their child’s schooling.

Free Wi-Fi in Dayton, Kentucky

Housing Authority of Dayton, KY – In partnership with the Housing Authority of Dayton, KY, altafiber is providing high speed public Wi-Fi to the residents of 45 units at Jamestown Apartments.

Housing Authority of Covington

As a part of the Covington Connect initiative, altafiber partnered with Housing Authority of Covington, KY to provide complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi to two of their housing communities, City Heights and Latonia Terrace. Altogether, there are 605 apartments at City Heights and Latonia Terrace.

City of Covington

altafiber and the City of Covington came together to smash the digital divide by providing students and families with free access to the Internet as part of the Covington Connect Initiative. 124 Wi-Fi Access Points were installed in eight Covington neighborhoods. In a partnership with Comp-U-Dopt, over 1,000 refurbished laptops were provided to qualified Covington citizens.

Newport Scholar House

In partnership with Brighton Center, altafiber provides high speed public Wi-Fi to the 60 residents living at Newport’s Scholar House. This effort helps to bridge the digital divide and allows residents to better pursue their goals of higher education.

CVG Airport

CVG Airport and altafiber executed a multi-year project to build fiber based Internet with 2 Gbps symmetrical speeds. The partnership included providing Managed Wi-Fi which was built on leading hardware and software designed with speed and an optimal end user experience with initial login with integrated user authentication with email. The network was designed for maximum coverage throughout CVG including transitional areas like stairwells and hallways. Nearly 2.4 million Wi-Fi sessions have taken place through June 2021, with CVG users regularly experiencing speeds of over 100Mbps.
